Robert F. Sherod, Founder:
In 1959 Robert thought he could offer more to bowlers than the pro shop he was currently managing in Salinas, CA.
Heading to San Leandro he opened "A shop for Bowler’s". His reputation grew because he drilled a mean bowling ball.
But before you could leave he would have you try it out in the showroom. How you ask?
Bob would have you hold the ball and throw it to him.
He wanted to watch your approach and throw just like in the bowling alley.
He never dropped a ball.
Pretty soon he was carrying a full line of bowling gear and accessories, with a small step into trophies.
Trophies were the biggest thing in changing the direction of the business.
The name became Robert’s Trophies.
He was part of a team of 13 that founded the “Trophy Dealers of America”. An association for the sharing of ideas and education for the beginners that grew rapidly to include Manufacturers. Bob was a big part of this association and his business grew and prospered with it.
After 55 Years, he’s taking it easy and turning the day to day business over to his daughter, Cheryl Gray and her husband John.
From bowling balls to the completely unique we continue to strive for honesty, Supreme & Friendly Service
and quality products backed by creativity, knowledge and experience.
